i need to fix it!
it’s been years since i got her in my hands.. and from a year ago, she’s broken. OILY DIAPHRAGM! no one’s seems to be able to fix it. everybody just gave up. and i remember i did a cleaning for the lens a couple of years ago and, well… maybe they didn’t have the right tools, so there’s something missing or a bit broken. and that made her impossible to be opened...

hello again.
there are quite a few pocket cameras which i owned for quite a long time too, but i got too lazy to tell each one of their stories. maybe it’s because that i don’t put much effort to get it and i just found them in the easiest way and in the cheapest price.. oh and i also didn’t take them for a walk too. well, let’s see there are the kodak instamatic 33 camera and the agfa autostar X-126. i got...

1000.
Well here’s an eye catcher for everyone (maybe..) who wouldn’t know those rainbow stripes and those intriguing green button! I got this camera from my cousin when I was still in college. Well he didn’t literally gave me this Polaroid, he said “why don’t you try to use it and tell me if it’s working or not”.  And so I tried I, and yeah it’s working, but somehow the image always doubled. Not like a...

hey mi (ni) ster!
Back again in the yashica family. It’s the minister now. With all the wear signs and all, she’s still doing her job right. Everything worked smoothly, only the shutter that sometimes jammed, like 2 out of 13 cranks. But she’ll be just okay in a few minutes.  I’ve never take her for a walk though.. not that I don’t like her, I just cannot find the right time to bring her. I don’t know why. I found...

canon(et) G-III
Back then, almost every time when I go to the flea market I saw this camera. I’d say it’s the most common camera there is. And it seems that everyone own this camera. I got a few of this same camera in my room. Every time I got this camera there’s always something broken. Could be the light meter’s not working, the shutter’s jammed, the focusing ring jammed, the back door cannot be closed, and...

It’s a big box? No. it’s a Polaroid ID-3
Back in 2007, after I got back from work, my uncle called. “hey, how are you? You’re in Jakarta right? I wonder, I got a luggage of Polaroid camera, are you interested?” Hell yeah! Then I asked him, how much should I pay for it, then he said that the camera was actually a property of Garuda Indonesia Airlines. Since it’s not being used anymore, he grab the thing and took it home with him, one for...

She’s simply irresistible. That’s the right word for her I’d say. She’s pretty big and made of plastic mostly. like any other Polaroid cameras. I actually never had a chance to take her for a walk since I first got her. The electricity just won’t work, and I’m not that good with that solder iron thing, but I’ll try it soon. All I know is the cable that connects the power from the battery was so...

the small and adorable Rollei 35s
Ok, so, in this special day for me I’d like to post about something a bit special for me too. Well she’s not a very rare camera, nor a great camera to use. Ergonomically, I say that she’s the worst. And not practical at all. She’s not a rangefinder, so that the viewfinder is, well, what can I say, a bit useless. Yeah it shows you what’s in frame, but not that accurate too, since it’s not an SLR....

the repairman
in my early post i said that i’m gonna post about my handy repairman. well, here’s a bit story about him. Back in 2002, I met some guy when I was developing my pictures. We talked while we’re waiting the sales girl to give our prints. From him I was recommended a name, he told me that he can fix old cameras and quite good with lenses. So the next day I go out to his place to find  out....

my RICOH Autohalf EF
I admit visual is my first reason to buy a camera or not. It doesn’t have to be good looking as in beautiful or anything, it could be funny, ugly, or anything. I like all Ricoh’s camera, except for the SLR’s, because the SLR’s are not that attractive for me. When I first spotted this camera, she was in the first row inside the display box at ABC road in Bandung. The first thing that came in my...

Canon A35 Datelux
She came along together with my Yashica Electro 35 CCN Wide. I don’t find anything amusing with her. I don’t know, I just don’t like her. The film crank lever is broken, but you can still use it without any problems, lens is clean, the flash is working fine. It is well built too.  The only thing I find interesting is that she have a pop-up flash and a different kind of film rewind lever than most...

Yashica Electro 35 CCN Wide
She could be the first rangefinder camera I ever lay my hands on. I got her from my late grandfather back in the year 2000 along with a few other cameras. I don’t like rangefinders. As far as I know is that you cannot change the lens and it feels like pocket camera. It’s just not cool I thought. So I just put her in my camera bag. I was still learning to take pictures with an SLR camera in high...

Yashica Mat 124G
I got my Yashica Mat 124G camera back in the year 2000, I think, a few months after I got my Olympus OM-1. I’m not very in to medium format then. I remembered, I just love her shape. Nothing fancy, just square and bulky. And I even don’t know how to use her. I think my dad gave this to me too, I don’t quite remember. I kept her safely in my cupboard for quite a long time, then in late 2001 I...

my deariest
And the first post goes to my first, my deariest, my favorite, my most wonderful, “Olympus OM-1”.   This is my first SLR camera. My dad gave it to me when I’m in senior high school when I told him that I want to join the photography club back in the days. It was in the year 1999  -  2000 I think. When I first got her, the metering was already broken so I learned how to shoot without it. Asking my...
